Hi TJ! Welcome to Morgan Hill. Please join the South Valley Running Club (SVRC) for our Saturday runs! We rotate between Morgan Hill and Gilroy.

This Saturday we will meet at the Coyote Creek Trail Head (off of Malaguerra Dr and Morning Star Drive) in Morgan Hill at 8AM. The club has some fast runners, although I am not one of them 🙂 The Coyote Creek trail is a perfect place for you to train. Once you get to know people, you will learn all sorts of great routes.

For more information on the Coyote Creek Trail, visit these sites:

For speed work, lots of us hit the Live Oak High School track either early in the morning or in the evening. You can use it as long as school is not in session.

For more information, please visit the SVRC website

Also, please visit my page on great local courses:

Morgan Hill is rich with runners and cyclists. You have moved to the right place!

Hey JW. I just sort-of stumbled across your blog. I see that you have run 100 miles as a 2010 goal, and that you have Javelina on your schedule. You picked a nice race as a first 100. It is a blast. I’ve run it the last two years (and my semi-training partner won it in 2009), so if you have any questions about it, let me know. Best of luck.

Outstanding! Thanks so much for the offer. I will absolutely take you up on it. I put a lot of thought into which run would be my first 100M. Everyone I asked said, “Javelina.” I am very excited. Excited about my whole schedule this year.

All the best and thanks for reading my blog.

Hi HE I too just stumbled on your great blog, I want to run the San Lorenzo 50k, can you tell me is it harder or earlier than the northface endurance 50k in san Francisco. Thank you for any info. This will only be my 2nd 50k.
    Still having fun!!

It’s easier for sure and a lot of fun.

Hi Michelle, I realize this is half a year after your question. Sorry!! I just saw it. Did you run San Lorenzo? I was there this year. It’s much much easier than North Face. Curious to hear if you ran and what you thought.
