Running Henry Coe State Park and Corde Valle

Deep in training for Ohlone 50K, which means hills, hills and more hills.  About to take off for a 20-miler.

But before I go, my friend Craig took some great photos during our last two big training runs.  Two weeks ago we ran Henry Coe State Park, starting at the Hunting Hollow entrance.  It is a great training ground for Ohlone.  The first climb is about 1500′ over 2 miles.  Last weekend we ran the hills of Corde Valle.  The climbs are the steepest around. Unfortuntaly, you have to live in Corde Valle to gain access. Fortunately, my friend Kevin does.

I highly recommend both of these runs for the locals.

For Henry Coe, you want to start at the Hunting Hollow Entrance.  It’s about 20-25 minutes from Morgan Hill.  Click here for a full trail map.  These are very accurate and easy to follow.

The following weekend, we went to Corde Valle.
